User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20030205 Chimera/0.6+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20030205 Chimera/0.6+ If I try to download a file by clicking on a link to the file, the file gets downloaded to my download directory with a temporary file name, not the actual name of the file. This means that I am unable to click on the "Open" button in the Download Manager to open the file I have to navigate to the folder and double-click on the file to open it Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Click on a link to download a file 2. File downloads in Download Manager 3. Try to click the Open button in Download Manager Actual Results: Button is grayed out. File is in downloads directory with temporary name Expected Results: Button should not be grayed out. File should be in downloads directory with real name I've tried this after deleting all my chimera preferences and even creating a new user to try this This is also a regression as it used to work

This only happens on machines where the Users folder is on a separate partition from the OS X System volume

Found the problem. If the Users folder is on a different partition, the Users folder needs to be readable and writeable by the admin user Doh!
