Will try to be brief (I promiss :)

When Enigmail is enabled, it is IMPOSSIBLE to send clear text mail !!!
Would it be possible to leave the choice to the user to encrypt or not the mail ?
=> Solutions:
1. 2 buttons (Enigmail & Normal Send)
2. Ask user before sending mail (if he want to crypt or not)

--- If you are ultra busy you may stop reading here ---
Example: I just wish to send some URL on my mail adress @work
-> there's no sensitive datas and my mail client is Lotus Notes
-> decrypt is not easy (must launch an external proggie then copy paste msg,
then... etc...)
THEREFORE being able to send in clear text WOULD be really great !!!
(and going to mozilla preferences each time , I want to send in clear text isn't
a solution too...)

BTW. No default Encryption does not allow to choose encryption :(
-> it's either everything OR nothing crypted....
---
OT. LoL @ your examples for bug report ;)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Edit / Preferences / Security / Enigmail
2.
3.

Actual Results:
it's either everything OR nothing crypted....

Expected Results:
allow user to choose wheter he want to encrypt or not !!!
1. 2 buttons (Enigmail & Normal Send)
2. Ask user before sending mail (if he want to crypt or not)
I have two comments:
1. Enigmail overrides the default send function of MailNews. This bug should
thus be addressed to enigmail, as Mailnews cannot do anything about it.

2. In the Enigmail preferences, there is an option "encrypt if possible" that is
turned on by default. If this is the case, the normal "Send" button is replaced
by "EnigSend" which does what is described above. If "no default encryption" is
selected, the normal send button is active, offering the normal send
functionality (i.e. not encrypted). Anyway, all functionality, including "send
plaintext" is available through the Enigmail menu.
As Patrick already said, this bug belongs to the Enigmail project.
Anyway, it now has a great new UI that allows you to set easily
weather you want to encrypt/sign a message or not.
