Once i've opened the mail client once, I can NOT stop it from checking my mail
and/or filtering them, unless I also close the browser.

This is most annoying when I leave a web page open at home, (after having
checked my mail), then go to work, where I cannot tell whether I have new mail
or not, because my home client filters them away before my work client notices
they were ever there, (IMAP).
I therefore have to manually click on folders to check whether they have
recieved any new mail.

This appears to be bad/wrong behaviour.. when I close the mail client I expect
it to cease checking/filtering mails.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run mail & news
2. Open a web page
3. Close mail & news

Actual Results:
Check your mail elsewhere... the above instance of mozilla will still be dealing
with mail

Expected Results:
Stopped processing mail, (or doing anything mail related... i've only got a
browser open!).

bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
