Confirmed, even without flash installed the "Click here to install plugin" boxes remain.

If I click on the "x" to close flash component only the frame disapper, while the images reamins, using IE6 the component disappear entirely. I'm using Firefox 0.8 final SSE2 on Win XP.
[Problem on Mozilla >1.3.1 / All Java plugins available/ Windows] Same problem is also affecting Java applets. Java Applets disregard the iframe on top of them.

I've got some more samples that display this. Firefox linux exhibits the problem whereas mozilla 1.6 on windows doesn't. Trying 1.7, but that's another bug report...

My system is Mandrake 10 Community kernel 2.6.3-mdk verified behavior in mozilla-1.7 rc1 flash player 6.79 and I'm also getting this error in the console when clicking on the buttons in the attached examples: Gtk-WARNING **: invalid cast from `GtkSuperWin' to `GtkWidget' FWIW

BUG 227470 is possibly related to this bug as well.

I think this is more a layout, view rendering problem. Changing component. The attached testcase here seems broken, needs to be fixed. The url doesn't work anymore.
Component: General → Layout: View Rendering
Product: Firefox → Core
Version: unspecified → Trunk
