I have attempted to install rc3, with similar result!
I have attempted to uninstall previous version (1.3.1) prior to Installation
V1.4, with similar result!
I have attempted to install V1.4 on a totally separate Folder, with similar result!
I have attempted to uninstall V1.4, using WinXP PRO uninstaller
(ControlPanelApplet), with similar result!
I have attempted to uninstall V1.4 with JV16.org registry tool, with similar result!
I have attempted to install/uninstall V1.4 as Administrator and with
Administrative Priviliges, with similar result!
I have reinstalled V1.3.1 and then uninstalled with ControlPanelApplet and
jv16.org Registry tool prior to installing V1.4, with similar result!
I have created a new user (admin priviliges) and attempted to install V1.4 after
a registry scrub for all references to Mozilla, with similar result!
I have manually searched and deleted all references to mozilla in registry, with
similar result!
I have manually removed Mozilla folder in ProgramFiles directory and any that I
attempted to install to earlier, with similar result!
V1.3.1 (when re-installed) ALWAYS boots.  V1.4 (when re-installed) NEVER boots!
Install logs show successfull installation!
Attempts to install and start program have been done both with and without
ZoneAlarm Firewall (and AVG Virus Guard program), with similar result!
I have clicked my heels and I have said "abracadabra" during BOTH install of
V1.4 and Launch of the same, with similar result!

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Disable Firewall/Virus Protection
2.Uninstall previous version or previous installatiojn
3.Install Mozilla V1.4 Browser normally with all default settings!
4.Upon installation, double click desktop icon created!
5.Brief 1second display of HourGlass followed by NOTHING else!
6.Mozilla is NOT shown to be running as an APPLICATION nor a PROCESS!  

Actual Results:  
Nothing!

Expected Results:  
Launched Mozilla V1.4 Browser!

No error prompts are provided and the MozillaBrowser does not appear to have
launched nor loaded!
If MozillaBrowser V1.3.1 is reinstalled (I am using it as I write this) it
launches and operates perfectly!

Have you tried starting it with a clean profile or completely removing your old
profile?
it's stored in C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\Mozilla

Please uninstall all mozilla versions you have, delete any mozilla.org directory
under program files, delete any mozilla directory in unser common files and then
install Mozilla 1.6. Reopen if you still experience the same crash.
