User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624

With Mozilla 1.3x, it shows FTP directory list with the Novell BorderManager proxy if you enter an URI ftp://....

Starting with 1.40 (v1.5a has the same problem), the browser prompts the user with message:

----
The file "" is of type application/octet-stream and Mozilla does not know how to handle this file type. This file is locate at

ftp://ftp.....

What should Mozilla to do with this file?
-----

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set the proxy to use the Novell Bordermanager
2. enter an URI ftp://ftp.planetmirror.com/pub/redhat/updates
3.

Actual Results:
Instead of getting the directory list of the ftp server as Mozilla 1.3x normally does, Mozilla 1.4/1.5a prompts the users for action.

Expected Results:
Show the directory list as Mozilla v1.3x or below normally does.

We are using Novell BorderManager v3.6 with latest patches from Novell. Normal http protocol works ok. However, for ftp, Mozilla v1.3x work fine but not Mozilla v1.4/1.5a.

Have tried v1.4 on Win98SE and Linux (Redhat 9), v1.5a on WinXP. All have the same problem.

If you want to test it with our proxy, I can arrange a hole on our firewall for the ip address you nominate.

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
