User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030903 Firebird/0.6.1+ Build Identifier: Mozilla Thunderbird 0.2 (20030901) Began using TB 0.2 yesterday, and after a few ng posts in netscape.mozilla.firebird, noticed that the sender column is showing the user part of my email address rather than the "Your name" field. Account settings: Your name: joe t. Email address: thook[DELETE]erov@yahoo.com Sender column for my posts shows: thook[DELETE]erov Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. See netscape.mozilla.thunderbird or .firebird 2. Look for my posts. To do it yourself, i don't know. Most everyone else's name seems to appear correctly. Expected Results: TBird should be displaying "joe t." in the sender column, as it did in 0.1 and all other Mozilla mail clients.
The top item highlighted was posted with TB 0.2, the bottom was posted with (i think) TB 0.1.
Tried deleting the secnews account and recreating (running into bug#216245) the account. Problem still exists.
Upon suggestion, i removed the [ ] brackets from the email address. All is well now. Must have been the brackets that were confusing TBird. At least, that's the only explanation i have. i don't know if this still qualifies as a bug, since no one else has tried it. i suppose it's bad to include invalid characters for an email address in that field, eh?
