User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130

Last night I was reading about all the new things Mozilla Firebird can do,
including being more stable. I thought - hey, I have no problems with 1.2.1,
it's really stable.

Today, suddenly the mail system crashes when I hit the SEND command. Out of the
blue. Every time. Well, shut my mouth.

I did a bug search, #202822 comes closest, but that solution doesn't work for
me, because when I go to the composition dialog box, there is no mention of
Spell check at all, so I can't check / uncheck it.

May be worth mentioning that the actual dialog box is too small, part of each
line within the box is cut off on the right side. This has always been the case
with the Preferences box, it's not new to this problem.

May also be worth mentioning - I use my dial-up ISP to download my incoming
mail, but have always used my web-domain host to send outgoing mail, because I
never could configue Moz to do both via just one. But again, this isn't new.
For a while now, Moz sometimes would ask me for a new password after I'd been
using it for 45 minutes or so.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.reply to a message or compose a new message of any size
2.use mouse to hit SEND
3.program freezes, I then have to eventually use C/A/D to manually shut down
Mozilla. Note, it never even get's to the part where it typically asks me for a
password to allow me to send.
4. sigh, reboot, and try again.

Actual Results:
Crashes every time

Expected Results:
uh, send the mail like it always used to do?

I don't know how to get a Talkback crash ID, would appreciate a clue here.
Sorry for my ignorance.

11/27/03: Look, no one's bothered to offer the slightest advice yet, it's been
weeks. Now things are worse - Mozilla crashes all the time - sometimes when
trying to manage bookmarks, sometimes just reading an email, etc... WTF???

I need help, or at least direction for where to go so I can solve the problem
myself. messages to esther and sspitzer have not been responded to. Can
someone offer a tip or two?

I really don't want to go back to the evil Outlook / IE suite, but I do need
program that works.

HELP!!!!!! -Dan
do you stil crash using 1.6 ?
Dan, so how about 1.6 or 1.7b? 1.2.1 is pretty old.
If you still crash, please attach a Talkback ID (Talkback is included in the
Installer version).
Do you have any extensions installed?
unable to reproduce with Mozilla 1.7 beta on windows. If you can reproduce with
Mozilla 1.7 beta please reopen and note the talkback ID for the crash report you
submit.
