User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Everytime I re-open Messenger after closing the Mozilla suite I'm prompted for my security device password so Mozilla can get my POP password from the password manager and access my e-mail. This is a complete pain in the ass. I'd like an option I could check in the account options for "Do not use password security for this account". Messenger could then store my mail password in a less secure fashion (like Outlook Express) so that I don't have to enter a password every time I want to check my mail. "But wait!" you say, "that feature is for your own security!". Firstly, my sanity is at risk here. Secondly, I have 6000 e-mails listed in my account with password, login, purchase details that aren't encrypted and that the master password isn't protecting. These are just as dangerous to me security-wise as allowing the potential of someone downloading my e-mail for the day. Please add this to Mozilla 1.6, its driving me nuts :) Thanks guys. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

You can turn of the master password. edit -> preferences -> passwords / master password At least, it works for me. Mozilla never asks me for my mail password.
You can, but you can't turn it off independantly for Messenger (i.e. have the browswer use master passwords but not the mail program).

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
