User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Netscape/7.1 (ax) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Netscape/7.1 (ax) I already have Netscape 7.1 installed. I read to establish a new profile before installing Mozilla. Did this. Installed Mozilla, it asked which profile to use, I chose the new one, a few seconds of HD churning and crash. Note, this same error occurs in Netscape 7.1 I use when attempting to display yenc mail, on some web searches and rarely when I scroll down email in my inbox. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Start Mozilla, it brings up profile list. 2.Choose Profile 3.Crash Actual Results: I get a gpf error in GDI.EXE. Mozilla crashes and exits. I have never run Mozilla 1.5 successfully. Expected Results: Opened up profile and continued on. MOZILLA caused a general protection fault in module GDI.EXE at 0014:000007b6. What happens if you bypass the profile manager (i.e. start Mozilla with mozilla -p <yourProfileName>) Does it crash too?

You will have to excuse me, how do I bypass the profile manager? If you could, give me a step by step. Thanks!

Reporter: please try again with a recent nightly build from <http://ftp.eu.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/nightly/latest/> - you probably want mozilla-i586-pc-msvc.zip.

The nightly build worked! Mozilla is up and running. Just so I will know, how will I be able to update this version as updates cme up and where? Thanks again!

WFM then :) Reporter: I'm sorry to say it, but you can't "update" Mozilla. You have to completely delete and then reinstall/unzip a new build every time. Please remember that the build you are running now (nightly) is a test-build, and is not meant for end-users, really. You should update to 1.7 when it is released.
