Like javascript: URLs and redirects, I believe that irc: URLs should show as visited but not actually appear in the history window/sidebar.

I disagree here - I go to a channel from someone's link, then the next day want to find it again. Where would I look? History. (oh, and the patch seems to have some pref panel change in it, too) History should, IMHO, be /where you've been/. With this definition, IRC servers, channels and queries should show just like any web page.

(In reply to comment #2) > History should, IMHO, be /where you've been/. With this definition, IRC servers, > channels and queries should show just like any web page. I agree, but perhaps this could be made a preference, so it'd suit people who don't want their irc urls to show up in history?

The attached patch doesn't work any more anyway. If your history is not where you've been, it's no use at all. If the reporter does not wish to see irc: URLs, they should file a RFE to have them hidden from the history view, but it must be an option (which I don't believe will happen, but there you go). --> WONTFIX.
