User-Agent: Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113 I haven't actually verified that this problem is directly related to Junk Mail Control or IMAP. That is just an assumption at this point, since that is my setup. My Junk Mail Control setttings for my IMAP account is: x Enable JMC x Do no mark messages as junk if sender is in Personal Address Book x Move incoming messages determined to be junk mail to Junk on Local Folders x When I manually mark messages as Junk: Move them to the Junk folder I have also seen the problem while I did not have "Move incoming..." ticked. The settings for the Local Folders are the same except that "Move incoming..." is not ticked. On the IMAP server I filter messages into IMAP folders, one of which is my primary source for email (this is not the IMAP "Inbox"). It's for this folder I have noticed the problem, but it could well exist for all the IMAP folders. This folder is called "newmail". During the last 2 weeks or so I have notcied at least 5 times that messages are disappearing. I have noticed this several ways: 1. When selecting the newmail folder, I briefly see the summary listing. Then all the messages from the summary disappear. On the IMAP server, the folders are stored in refular mbox files. I have then been able to read those and see those messages which I could briefly see in the summary. When doing a "Compact Folder" in mozilla, the messages would disappear from the mbox file on the server. In one instance when the summary listing disappeared I noticed a message about "lost contact with IMAP server" or something to that effect. 2. I have now taken steps to copy all incoming mail on the server side to a folder not visible to Mozilla, in addition to storing them in "newmail". I have been able to see in this folder messages that are are neither in "newmail" nor present in the local folders (including "Junk"). I also have message filters enabled for the IMAP account. They all filter messages into local folders. I have seen this problem both with 1.6b and 1.6 which I'm using now. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

(OT) Why is your text (comment 0) overflowing the browser window on the right side? It makes your bug report very difficult to read (I chose not to read it at all).

(In reply to comment #1) > (OT) Why is your text (comment 0) overflowing the browser window on the right > side? It makes your bug report very difficult to read When you enter a bug report it appears that the text you enter is automatically word wrapped. Apparantly it is not. I have found no way to edit the message either.

We here in Vienna have the same kind of problems. It typically comes with the need for a permanent station filtering spam in mozilla (here 1.4.x) and concurrent access to mailbox via other process/thread/system. We use unix type imap access on a variety of linux or tru64 hosts. Typically people won't loose mail, but removed mails will "show up" again, as unread. In behind "kiss of death" is done to that imapd comming late. I postulate there is a concurrency problem with imap handling by mozilla, since shared access of mailboxes otherwise won't create problems. We don't use ~/mbox and we don't access using pop3. Truly yours, Aron Vienna Univ. Computer Center

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
