Details
User-Agent: Build Identifier: Mozilla Thunderbird 0.4 (20031205) When I start my computer, Thunderbird launches automatically. Yet it is not listed in the Startup folder in the XP menu. When I shut Thunderbird down, it launches itself again after several minutes. I do not see a tray icon for Thunderbird, so this seems like random behavior. I don't mind if it checks for new e-mail in the background, but it should not launch itself. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Just start the computer 2. Close Thunderbird with the close button in the top right corner 3. Expected Results: When I close the software, I do not expect it to start itself again. When the software is running, I want it to check for new email now and again. A tray icon that would indicate that there is new email in one of the accounts is cool too, but should not interfere with the main program.

I was having this exact same issue with 1.0.2. thunderbird opens when xp starts up and reopens itself every time it is closed. I was forced to uninstall.
