When you click "compact folders" in MailNews, the folders from the selected
account are compacted.

I know its per account. I´m just telling that could compact all accounts's
folders. I have more than 3 mail accounts in my profile. What do you think it's
easier: select accounts one by one and click compact folders, or click "compact
folders from all accounts"?

sorry, if people only want to compact folders in a given account, how would they
do it? Suppose I have an imap account that I'm not currently connected to, but I
wanted to compact all my local folders? We don't have a compact all folders in
all accounts command - if you want an RFE for that, you can file one. Also, you
can configure Mozilla to compact all folders when it will save over XX KB (edit
| preferences | mail & newsgroups | offline and diskspace)
