User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7a) Gecko/20040218
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7a) Gecko/20040218

The link is about LiveTiming for Formula 1 events. It starts Java applet (I am
using Java(TM)Plug-in 1.4.2-b28) which shows three tabs with various
information. When I start Mozilla 1.7a for a first time and enter given URL I
get only part of image. After I "Reload" page everything works OK. This remedy
step was not possible with Mozilla 1.6. I would like to add that I had same
problem with Mozilla 1.7a for Windows with Java(TM)Plug-in 1.4.1.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Start Mozilla 1.7a and don't open any other links
2.Go to the http://formula1.com/race/livetiming/popup/714.html
3."Reload" page

Actual Results:
You will see incomplete image.

Expected Results:
Software should display image properly.
Confirmed on Linux. Works fine on Windows.

Please can someone actually look at this bug for once rather than closing it. If
you look at comment 4 on bug 244139 you will see that the comment tells you that
the URL changes from race to race.

All that someone needs to do is go to the URL, using the instructions as
described, and you will see that the bug is still there.

Just for the record, all you need to do is:

go here:

http://www.formula1.com/

click on

OFFCIAL LIVE TIMING

click on the "CLICK HERE TO LAUNCH THE OFFICIAL LIVE TIMING PAGES"

Actually I don't even think 244139 is a duplicate of this bug, as the bug in
question is on Linux AND Windows, and this bug seems to be Linux only.
reopening, see comment 6 for better steps to reproduce.

Still broken in Firefox 1.5.0.1

Java version 1.5.0_06

The F1 season has now started again so you can again see the problem reproduced easily.

The URL is currently http://www.formula1.com/race/livetiming/751.html but this changes from race to race but the "LIVE TIMING" links off the main page make it easy enough to navigate to it.
Some additional comments:

1) In order to reproduce the bug goto http://www.formula1.com/race/livetiming/757.html
It should bring the live timing for the forth coming race.

2) I installed the NoScript extension for the Firefox 1.5.0.3. First I temporarily allowed formula1.com web is site in the NoScript. After unchecking the Forbid Java option in the Advanced tab under the NoScript Options I was able to get the applet rendered properly (maybe you will need to close window once). I guess that this issue is not related to the Java applet but to the interaction between other scripts which are being processed by the link.
This still exists on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20061204 Firefox/2.0.0.1 and Java 1.6.0
This all works fine in Firefox 2.0.0.6 on Linux (ubuntu) and Windows XP.

I would suggest that this bug can now be closed.

Mass-closing bugs in the "OJI" component: OJI plugin integration was replaced with npruntime long ago, and these bugs appear to be irrelevant now. If there is in fact a real bug that remains, please file it new in the "Core" product, component "Plug-ins".
