User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8 StumbleUpon/1.904 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8 StumbleUpon/1.904 I downloaded TBird .5, installed it, then imported my mail from eudora. It sat and chugged for a while, then I got "Sending of message failed. Error writing temporary file." (OK). Given that it was the only option, I hit it, then I got the same message, again, and again, and again. I have this vague feeling that it's trying to resend everything that I ever sent via Eudora. Eventually I just killed the task to get it to shut up (I've sent more mail over the years than I want to click ok for now). I'm listing this as major because preventing a switch to tbird seems big to me. I'm wildly guessing that other people have been able to import just fine, so I'd assume that it's major when it happens, but doesn't typically happen. so I suppose my questions are 1) is it resending my mail? 2) how do I get it to just import my mail? Thank you very much. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. install TBird .5 2. import mail from Eudora 3. wait Actual Results: lots and lots of message boxes Expected Results: quietly imported my mail

I got a similar error when during the import Norton Antivirus caught a MIME encoded virus in my inbox, and tried to delete part of it. After that I kept on getting this message until I killed the process.
Same experience as Ali -- importing from Eudora on Win2k, Norton AV 2004 detects a mime-encoded virus, and Thunderbird -- 0.7 in my case -- repeatedly pops up the error message with only an OK button. Fortunately, if you have two Thunderbird windows open, it only blocks one, so it's possible to close the application from the other window. Two problems here: 1. Badly worded error message. 2. No way out!

Same here, importing Eudora mail in Thunderbird 1.0, a message popped up telling me that "sending of message failed" and that it could not find %P0% and asking me to check the temporary directory. However clicking accept on the error dialog (only option) just makes it pop up again.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it.
