comments from their browser detection script found at
http://www.shire.com/scripts/BrowserSniff.js implicate it as having been written
by Netscape people:
// Ultimate client-side JavaScript client sniff. Version 3.03
// (C) Netscape Communications 1999-2001. Permission granted to reuse and
distribute.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Visit http://www.shire.com/ with a Gecko-based browser

Actual Results:
View peaceful whiteness instead of content

Expected Results:
Script should have correctly detected browser.

As would be expected, spoofing the user agent for IE or Netscape 4.8 gets you a
page. The IE version doesn't work right in Mozilla; the 4.8 version seems to.
Though it's not too surprising ... the "mac" version of their page doesn't work
in IE 5.2 for the Mac.

Bugs 109797 and 143849 are about sites that use the same ua sniff script.
Visited site again today and it seems they've changed their ways. Sniff script
now shows up as 404. Resolving as WORKSFORME
