Hi Ben...here is some of the problem content from that other bug:

Hey Rich,
I think I can reproduce the problem now.  As Kathy said, it only occurs on
MacOS.
Just type the html tag <input><textarea> and there you have it.

pmock, so you see *both* the url linkified and a textarea widget in the last
notification?

I see the url being linkified but the textarea widget is not.  When I reply to
this bugzilla email notification, I see the textarea
widget being display.

Yes, the link is completely lost.  In 4.7, I looked at the message page
source and the link is completely gone.  Here is the text that I copied from
the page source.

Note, that "<textarea>" also disappeared, but "<input>" did not. The latter is
not escaped.

aha, so above, it used the local part of my email address only. That's totally
broken. My other bugzilla account is [e-mail], so it would just show
"mozilla". Actually, they should *know* just how broken it is, given that hixie
at all use bugzilla@theirdomain for their bugzilla account. <netscape rant
suppressed>
