i make symbolic link to my libjavaxxx.so file in j2sdk1.2.4_04 by this command 
ln -sf /usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2_04/jre/plugins/i386/ns610-gcc/libjavapluginxxx.so 
 
when i see plugins detail by clicking about plugins in help 
i see all plugins ranging from 1.3.1 to 1.4.2 
 
now when i go to this url 
http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/reference/codesamples/index.html 
and run demo 1.4.x series i got error that appropriate plugin is not installed 
 
i have tried  all these softwateres 
red hat linux 9 
white box linux 
j2sdk 1.4.2_04 
black down linux 
netscape 7.1 
mozilla 1.3x 1.4x 
konqueror 
galeon

You must symlink the GCC3.2 Plugin and not the GCC2.95 plugin if you use Mozilla
1.3 or later. (it seems that you symlinked the gcc2.95 one)
