Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.7b) Gecko/20040411 Firefox/0.8.0+

Once the install process has begun, the Cancel button is greyed out and the
window's Close button does nothing.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Run the Firefox installer, proceed until the Installing... screen
2.Click the Cancel button
3.Click the window's Close button

Actual Results:
Firefox continues to install

Expected Results:
Installation should stop; all files and settings should return to their original
state
Flags: blocking1.0?
At least on Windows its now quite common for applications to not allow a cancel
once they've begun to copy files. There's always the uninstaller. Not really
sure if this is so important for Firefox 1.0.
Confirming: (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040608

In the latest builds, the cancel button is never active, its always disabled.
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
Summary: Should be able to cancel during install → Should be able to cancel during install/button disabled
Unlikely we'll get to this by 1.0.
Flags: blocking1.0? → blocking1.0-
this is especially a problem when the automatic update kicks in and wants to
close all open firefox windows which can lead to data being lost when the
installer kills the open browser windows.

The installer isn't used for Software Update anymore (e.g. comment #4). Comment #1 is correct and we don't allow canceling an install once it has started.
