Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.0.3705; .NET CLR 1.1.4322) Build Identifier: With LDAP authentification, a password with special characters such as german umlauts are considered incorrect. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Use LDAP authentification 2. Set password (of the domain account) to a string containing an umlaut 3. Login to Bugzilla (using domain account and password) --> fails 4. Change password (of the domain account) to a string without umlauts 5. Login to Bugzilla --> works Actual Results: Login not possible when there is an umlaut in the LDAP password.

Easier to observe but probably a result of the same bug: User names in LDAP containing umlauts are displayed as special characters in Bugzilla's user list, e.g. "ä" as "ä". BTW: Umlauts are not affected when typed in via Bugzilla forms. Thus, the problem seems to be a mismatch between the character encoding in LDAP and Bugzilla.

This sounds a lot like a charset issue, as noted in comment 1. Does Bugzilla still have this problem when running with UTF8 enforced?

It works with Bugzilla 3.0.2 and UTF8 set. I set this issue to resolved fixed.

Rather WFM as we don't know what fixed the problem, or even if there was really one.
