Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040616 Firefox/0.9 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040616 Firefox/0.9 Firefox should use (I don't know about the feasibility of this) the Pango input method system like all GNOME apps. In other apps, a right click on an input field brings up a menu with input methods (Cyrillic Transliterated, Vietnamese, etc.) as well as Unicode controls. Firefox should use this or at least have similar functionality. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.right click on input field 2.compare menu to GNOME menu 3.note absence of input method support Actual Results: There was no input method support. Expected Results: Presented me with a list of options similar to Gnome's. It's a minor thing, but people like me who use the Transliterated Cyrillic input method in e.g. Galeon or Epiphany often miss it sorely in firefox.

There's a lot of discussion about Pango in bug 215219 and bug 214715, although not about the input method.
would be nice to have this in moz as well, would this be considered part of the textbox widget? Right now if you have a hotkey for switching input methods, it works, but having a menu would be nicer.
Summary: firefox needs input method support → firefox needs input method menu
my guess this is a dup of bug 214412 or at least depend on it
