OS/2 users want calendar by default. This patch adds calendar to the OS/2 installer build. Still need to --enable-calendar in .mozconfig to get the calendar itself built.

This patch seems to work beautifully. Is there a reason it hasn't been checked in?

The problem with this patch is that an install option for calendar shows up the installer even if you don't build calendar. I'm wondering if anyone would mind if I turned on calendar for good on OS/2...

Actually, there is a problem with localization. The builds including calendar that I made public do not work correctly with de-AT and possibly other language packs (see bug 247797), because the localization is made from the current calendar (trunk) not the branched one. I don't see how that can be solved when OS/2 includes the calendar by default. Instead I guess someone (me?) should make calendar XPIs available from time to time for OS/2, too.

Other than a longer download time to install Moz, is there any disadvantage of permanent inclusion to those who don't use it? The reason I don't use Cal now is because I really don't like having to reinstall an xpi every time I unzip a new nightly. I'd like to be using Cal.

Is this bug relevant any longer? Lewis

It seems that work is more focused towards Lightening for integration at least with Thunderbird and possibly the SeaMonkey in the future, and Calendar is not really useful on the 1.8 branch at the moment. Should we leave this one open for reference or close it because like this it will probably never happen?

Should we leave this one open > for reference or close it because like this it will probably never happen? > Besides Lightening, most of the effort with regard to calendar integration with the suite is along the lines of the xpi, which is why I posted comment #6.
