The sidebar opens after I do a search even though I have closed it.
The sidebar uses valuable real-estate and I don't like it.
It would be ok if it only showed up in the tab that I searched with but having
show up in all my tabs is annoying.

Maybe this is related to the fix for bug

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Do a search.

Actual Results:
The sidebar opens.

Expected Results:
The sidebar should not open if disabled.
preferences->navigator->Internet Search:

Have you unchecked "Open the Search Tab in the Sidebar when search results are
available" ?
Interesting, that preference must have got set back on.
I turned it off again and it all works.
