refer to bug 246168.
The documentation on the webpage is obsolete with the need for specifying the
app using -a firefox for example.

www.mozilla.org/unix/remote.html is for Mozilla. Any possibility of getting this
in www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/extensions/commandlineoptions.html instead?

Technically the page
www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/extensions/commandlineoptions.html is for
*extension* related topics in firefox.
There is currently no real place for that in the, very scarce, Firefox
documentation, maybe http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/ue/ would be a
place or maybe under a new item in 'Developper link' in
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/, something like Starting Firefox. But,
most probably, a whole new help tree is needed - and for the time being we could
use the Firefox wiki http://kb.mozillazine.org/...

Note that the --remote scheme works with any app in the Mozilla suite (including
thunderbird and Mozilla) and all have been affected by the recent change thus
the information may belong to www.mozilla.org/unix/remote.html

I'm not clear on which issue(s) this bug covers; none of the comments seem to
agree with the summary. I'm going to go with the summary and assume that it
covers unix/remote.html and not firefox docs or lack thereof (that issue should
go to a firefox person). This bug also doesn't specify what changes are being
requested.

After reading bug 246168 comment 14, I've removed all the spaces in the examples
in unix/remote.html, and added a comment that commands should not have spaces.
I've also added a copy of the current mozilla-xremote-client usage statement,
which includes -a and a few other arguments that weren't previously mentioned in
the help file. Hope that covers it.

OK, you're right. Problem is that remote execution of Firefox 0.9 is buggy and
this this URL was not synchronize with current FF0.9 behaviour.

Seems that execution is now fixed (in TRUNK) according this issue #177996
So, for upcomming versions this URL will need probably update.

But anyway, for now, I think this URL covers all possibility how to execute
remotely.
Thanks for it:-)
