User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040707 Firefox/0.8 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040707 Firefox/0.8 When going to pages that have downloadable links, when I had firefox .8 it would automatically start the download when I clicked on it, and save it to the pre specified download folder without making me pick a place or name it. Now since upgrading to .92 when I click on a link like the one in the above URL, it clicks like it's supposed to, but then nothing happens, the download manager doesn't open, and the status bar doesn't change. It continues to say "done". If I right click, I get the option to save link as, but that brings up the dialog box where you have to navigate to the correct folder, and rename the file. If I do this they will download correctly, and the manager will open. Additionally (I don't know if this is relevant), but when I open themes, and press the button for updates I get the error "firefox encountered errors while trying to find updates for some items" and there is a details button. When I click the details button it gives me the following information: could not install there was a problem with the remote server either the server was not found, or the service was not found" in the window it says "firefox(default)" Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. go to a page with a clickable download link i.e. "download now" like the example above or this URL as well http://update.mozilla.org/themes/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&id=9&vid=10 2. click on the "install" or "download" now button 3. nothing happens Actual Results: the install now button was highlighted around it, like it had been clicked, but the download manager did not open, and the status bar still said "done" Expected Results: should have started to download and download manager should have opened i have not been able to install any additional themes or extensions, and it happens with the extension manager as well as the theme manager.

I am also having this bug on Mac OSX 10.2.8 under both Firefox 1.0 and 1.0.1. It used to work, then it stopped working. Trashing the prefs/plist and the application support folders (including full circle) did not help. Reverting to 1.0 did no fix it. I can right click on a downloadable link and select "save link as..." and it will download, but left-click does not automatically start the download. I am using a Wacom Graphire 2 (4.7.9-2) tablet and mouse, but it seems to be working fine in other apps. Thanks, Patrick Johnson pjohnson_moz at technoscope dot com

Having same problem trying to download Ad-Aware SE from Download.com using Mozilla Mozilla 1.8b2 http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10045910.html?part=dl-ad-aware&subj=dl&tag=top5 Right click didn't work either. (IE does work, but not consistently -- sometimes it halts and displays a shield in the lower left hand corner of the browser window and won't allow any actions, other times it opens a window to override security).
