If no updates are found, you won't get a message that no updates are found. Instead, firefox will generate this JS error Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIObserverService.removeObserver]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://mozapps/content/update/update.js :: anonymous :: line 423" data: no] Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.open firefox. 2.check for updates Actual Results: the check for updates dialog opened but failed to give the results or display a message that no updates were found Expected Results: The software should have displayed a messeage that no updates were found.
