I would like to have smooth scrolling activated for cursor, scroll bar, and
mouse wheel scrolling, but at the same time have page scrolling (i.e., scrolling
done with the pageup/pagedown keys or with the spacebar) occur instantaneously. 

Turning off smooth scrolling altogether doesn't cut it, since I _do_ want smooth
scrolling for most purposes, except for one-whole-page scrolling as done with
pageup/pagedown. From my (limited) inquiries, it seems like no config setting
for this behavior exists right now.

I believe this is the behaviour under IE, and there seems to be no way to
reproduce it under Mozilla.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. turn on smooth scrolling
2. load a multi-page document
3. press page down

Actual Results:  
the document scrolls down one page-full _smoothly_ (as one would expect)

Expected Results:  
either smooth scrolling or an instantaneous redisplay, depending on the config
variable that i'm requesting (even if other kinds of scrolling are smooth)

The visual continuity on page-down is pretty useful. I don't know who would use
such a pref.

Of course, I for one would use it. I agree that the visual continuity is nice,
but I find that it becomes (literally) tiresome to see a "blur" of scrolling
text pass by every time I page down on a large document.

This is not such a weird option; for instance, the unix text-mode pager "less"
has the command-line option -h for this (-h20 means that when skipping forward
20 or more lines, the redisplay should be done instantaneously).

I'm not sure that I agree about making this the default behavior, though. The
visual continuity seems more user-friendly.

It seems like the behavior I requested is now default on Firefox 1.5. This makes me happy.
