Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8 I am using Thunderbird 0.72 on an IMAP server and for 98-99% of all emails it works fine. However, there are some emails, potentially those with attachments, where thunderbird displays an empty window in the preview pane and does neither show the email (text) nor the attachments. It is also not possible to save the attachments via the FILE menu. It happens only with certain emails but once I have such an email then there is no way to make thunderbird read it correctly, i.e. closing & restarting thunderbird does not solve the problem. The only solution is to use a different email program !!! =:-( I have the impression it occurs only on start-up when several emails are downloaded from the server and the user klicks quickly on an email with a large attachment but klicks on another email during the download of the first email with that large attachment. It seems that the image on the harddisk gets corrupted (--> displaying email as empty) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

User-Agent: Mozilla Thunderbird 0.6+ (Windows/20040907) Hmmmm.... can you provide some test cases for us to try out? It's so hard to narrow something like that down without something solid to work off of. Maybe try to create some bogus emails with attachments or something?

This happens for me if the download of a message is interrupted - either by connectivity, or, worse, by clicking on a different message while one is still loading. The one still loading from then on always shows as empty, I have not found a way to "resynchronize" the single message. This especially means that once you mis-clicked on a message with a large attachment behind a slow line you have to: a) wait until it has completely downloaded before clicking on a different message OR b) live with the fact that you cannot ever read this message from that profile In my opinion, this makes this bug critical. This happens with (at least) TB 1.0 on Linux and Windows; I get all mail via IMAP. I'm happy to provide further detail to get this resolved.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
