User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040803 Firefox/0.9.3
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040803 Firefox/0.9.3

The following is the scenario,
I have opened two tabs,
in tab-1 i type the yahoo-url and in the mean time the page comes,
I put ctrl-tab and go to the next tab and type hotmail-url, now i go backto
tab-1 and give my userid in first textfield and next i go to the second
textfield and type the password. My password's length is 7 characters, i see
only 3 * in the password entry textfield and the focus is not there but i have
typed the whole password.
What happens is that, whatever i type as password goes to the userid field in tab-2.

Iam not sure whether it is a bug or an intended behaviour. If the focus will go
to the next tab's form field, since it got the response back completely, the
screen (that is the tab i am viewing) must also change and show me the tab where
iam presently located.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Tab-1 and type http://mail.yahoo.com/
2.Open Tab-2 and type http://gmail.google.com/
3.(now you r in tab-2) Press CTRL-Shift-tab
4.type userid in the userid column provided
5.type passwor in the password column provided

Actual Results:
I should be able to type both the userid and password and the focus must wait at
the end of the password entry field

Expected Results:
Focus is lost while typing the password
or sometimes if the webpage at the next tab comes quickly, focus at the time of
typing the userid itself.

If this is a way of informing the user that the page in the next tab got
response completely, you give some popup or completely take me to that tab.
But now, the focus goes to the second tab and what i am seeing is tab-1. And i
think that i am in screen1 and type information pertaining to screen-1 but all
goes to screen-2.

Above all, Thanks to Mozilla you are doing a great job.
I have something similar happening with the same build of Firefox (both linux
and Windows).

I have my homepage set to:
http://slashdot.org|http://gmail.google.com
so it will open up 2 tabs when I open the browser up. Slashdot is the main tab
that is openned, and it is the one that has focus. Gmail tends to load after
slashdot does, and I think this causes the problem.
I have keyboard shortcuts enables on Gmail. After Gmail has loaded, even though
the tab it is in isn't the focused tab, it seems to have the focus of the
keyboard. If I type something like
"/mozilla"
meaning to search Slashdot for the word "mozilla", the gmail page grabs all of
the input.
This seems a dupe of the bug 124750.
I have also experienced a problem like this.

1. Open up tab and go to gmail home page
2. While gmail loads I open a second tab (ctr-t)
3. In second tab I begin to type a url for that tab but this doesn't work
4. If I return to the first tab (gmail inbox) what I typed on the second tab has
gone to this page and invoked hotkey features for gmail.

The hotkey issue is irrelevant (though it makes this bug annoying and possibly
dangerous - think if I were to hit a ctr key that causes a deletion of an
important email). If the first tab was just some text box then the same thing
would happen with text typed on the second tab going to the first.

Basically, it appears focus does not shift from first to the second tab. This
may be related to the first tab loading or something else.

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
