it should be possible to mark an event complete just like it is possible with tasks.
that would be that an event can be any of: Tentative, Confirmed, Completed,
Cancelled.

this would allow for a checkbox "hide completed/cancelled events", just like in
the task pane. (i will fil a separate bug for this).

by the way, why is "completed" good when we have "confirmed"?


an event, for example a conference might be confirmed to be in the future.
the conference would be completed right  after it has finished.
this is an important differance.
According to section 4.6.1 of RFC 2445, which defines the properties a VEVENT
component can have, "completed" is not listed so is not supported.
Section 4.6.2 allows that in a VTODO ( task ) component.
Although there might be a use case for it, since it is not standard we can't
support it. The best way is to request this from the IETF to get it added to the
standard which is unlikely.
