Frequently (> once per week), Thunderbird (0.8, reproduced on same profile in
build from trunk at 20041005) stops checking for any new mail after the profile
becomes corrupted. Pressing get mail, using the dropdown, menu options, keyboard
shortcuts or anything related to retrieving mail fails.

This may be related to the fact that I am having all the mail delivered to Local
Folders?

I only have one POP mail account set up.

Only way to restore is to back up my profile using MozBackup, delete the
profile, then restore.

Are there any specific parts of the profile I can send to help resolve this issue?

I don't know of any related actions that could cause it to attempt to reproduce.

Several users on the Thunderbird Support forums have advised that deleting
panacea.dat and allowing it be rebuilt solves this problem.

It would be interesting to see your prefs.js, and to know what the mail
directory looks like, i.e., what sub-directories are in it, and what files are
in those sub-directories. Does deleting the INBOX.msf file from the local
folders account fix the problem?
Sometimes, Thunderbird stops checking emails when it stands on the tray. At that
times, when i try to click "Get Mail" button, it's not responding.

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
