User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; hu-HU; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041108 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; hu-HU; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041108 Firefox/1.0 The page falls apart. IE displays something totally different - apparently the intent of the creators. The problem is, the site is a (if not the) major weekly in Hungary. According to the BBC country profile: Heti Vilaggazdasag - influential political and business weekly http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/country_profiles/1049641.stm Even the openeing page is different - but it is somewhat more readable in Firefox. I wrote to them about the issue, but they didn't do anything about it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. visit URL 2. scroll down to see the actual content 3. Actual Results: incorrect rendering Expected Results: something more readable, like in MS Internet Explorer. the main page, http://hvg.hu/ seems better.

WFM: Firefox 1.0 Win XP Looks the same as IE
This is the Firefox rendering of the page http://hvg.hu/kereses/default.asp?q=szabadalom&x=0&y=0
This is the "correct" rendering of the page http://hvg.hu/kereses/default.asp?q=szabadalom&x=0&y=0
(In reply to comment #1) > WFM: Firefox 1.0 Win XP > > Looks the same as IE Please look at the URL a second time: the attached screenshots demonstrate the "problem". The site does not really pass a w3c validator... ...but the problem is, that this weekly is "The Economist" in Hungary, and it is really hard to convince decision takers if they can't read this site correctly.

Hmm. A quick perusal of the source of various pages on the site reveals rampant VBScript, a <html xmlns:sc="sc"> tag (that one's new to me :D), and something in there about MSXML. In other words, very bad news. :(

The first step would be to remove all the "display:inline" on those DIVs. IE wrongly accepts the CSS 'width' property for inline elements and this site depends on that [IE] bug. There is no Mozilla error here as far as I can see. -> TE
