User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 When opening an article from an RSS news feed (usually, but not limited to newsisfree.com/xxxxxx and CNN) pop up windows appear when page opens. Immediately going to Tools - Options - Web Features will show the Block Pop up Windows option as unchecked. When opening Options menu, if Web Features is not the selected tab, clicking the Web Features tab or any other, gets no response. If you close the Options window and re-open it, you can then select Web Features or any tab with normal results. After doing so, you find the unchecked Pop up box. This happens several times per week but I have not been able to isolate any particular site or cause (other than as stated above that it's more frequent with CNN and anything from newsisfree.com) This has happened since ver. .9xx and continues into ver 1.0 which I just installed today. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open news feed links to CNN or newsisfree.com 2.Keep opening them until you get pop ups (you will eventually) 3.Check Tools- Options- Web Features and note if Block Pop ups box is unchecked. Note if your tabs in the Options window are unresponsive. Actual Results: I eventually get pop up windows and then find my previously checked Block Pop ups box (in Tools- Options- Web Features) is now unchecked. I also find my Options tabs frozen until I close and reopen the Options window. Expected Results: My Web Features options should remain as I set them and my Options menu should respond to tab choices without closing and re-opening it. This happens regularly and without me changing any settings in Firefox. e.g. Not caused by installing an extension or changing any security settings. I have no whitelisted sites. The only times I have entered Tools- Options in the past few months, is to correct this problem when it happens. Otherwise, no Options/Settings have been changed by me.
