After completing writing the email, I hit the send button, which crashes my
laptop (blue screen of death). This problem does not happen every time I send
email, and does not seem to be reproducible.

Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

This is the standard installation, no themes or plug-ins. This error has
occured on a fairly regular basis. This is the only time I have experienced a
crash on this laptop (which happens to be new). I have never experienced this
issue on my desktop, where I have not yet upgraded from version 0.7.

That is a problem with a driver on your system and not Thunderbird.
There should be informations in the BSOD and you can try to find the driver
which caused the BSOD with this informations.

Thunderbird only triggers the bug in your driver and it also doesn't matter if
only Thunderbird does that.

-> invalid (Thunderbird is a userspace application)
