I am not sure how big of a problem this is , but it seens that when I try to add
my signature in the Tools/Account Settings, it never stays after I click on okay!
I just downloaded the new 1.0 version. I hope that I am not wasting your time!

Thank You
James Hennings
Just checking the obvious (no offence) - are you ticking the 'Attach this
signature' box as well as selecting a signature file to attach?
James Hennings, is this bug still a problem for you?

Note that you need to provide a full and correct file path to the sig file, or
it will be rejected.

viz comment 1 -- if the checkbox isn't checked, the edit field is disabled.
Summary: E-mail Signature → E-mail Signature setting not sticking
Hi, when you add correct signature you still can't save setting of "And place my
signature ..." - I can change it in selectbox and then click "Ok" but when I
return back to this tab later ... there's always "below quote" instead of "below
my text" which I selected.

Yes even if I choose "Place the signature above the reply text" the setting
doesn't stay and reverts back to Add signature below reply text.
Not that big of a deal, but for someone who has used Outlook, etc it seems
really strange. And as the option is provided it will be better if it were put
to use, as signatures are used all the time with new mail clients.
Thanks for your help.

I am experiencing the same problem but it seems to only be for my secondary
identities. When I select the setting to insert my signature below my reply
but above the quote, it stays and works for my main profile but not for my
secondary identities even if I set the same settings within that identity. It
still wants to insert it below the quote. Thank you.
Yep, not sticking.

A file-type signature seems to work.
The location of my sig does not stick for any of my identities when my reply and
signature are both set to appear above the quote.

I go to "Tools/AccountSettings". I select my main account and click
"ManageIdenties/Edit/Composition&Addressing". I select "Start my reply above
the quote" and "place my signature below my replay (above the quote)". I click
"OK". I click "Edit" again. I click "Composition&Addressing". The sig
location has changed back to "place my signature below the quote (recommended)".
I'm having the same issue as expressed.

Issue for me is happening with Thunderbird 1.0.2. Both with an upgrade from
1.0.1 and a clean install. Issue is happening with one Windows XP SP2 machine
and one Windows 2000 SP4 machine. Both have the issue with the multiple
identities feature. The main account profile does not have this bug.
I posted a workaround for this bug at the following URL:

http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=259556
Still not working in version 1.0.7 (20050923) on Windows XP SP1

I think this is a major issue, as can be seen in the long discussion about this
feature: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62429
is this fixed by bug 284058?
