Details

I am using tb 1.0 final both under fedora core 1 linux and mac os x 10.3.6.

with the same preference and account settings, the linux version connects to
imap servers with starttls. to the same server, the os x version does not bring
up starttls. as reported in related bugs, it does not help to activate "secure
connection" while changing the imap port back to 143 (my mail server does not
offer ssl on port 993).

starttls for smtp does work perfectly under os x and linux.

it would be nice that the os x version does starttls automatically or that i
could activate it anywhere.

bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
