When I migrate my profile from 4.x, I can no longer use links from my personal
toolbar, because so much space has been consumed by other buttons on the
toolbar.

On a window of the same width, I lose (in the commercial build) four links off
the end.

I browse at a width of 800 pixels. I can see 8 links on my personal
toolbar in 4.x I end up losing half of them.

This happens because of Net2Phone, Bookmarks, Home, and the 68 pixels of padding
that exist only for the grey area surrounding the throbber, which isn't even on
the personal toolbar.

We need to solve this problem.
my solution to this problem has always been:

People have complained that the current personal toolbar positioning makes it
look like a menu, etc.

4.x has the horizontal space problem too. I think we should do what we currently
do for trees in areas like mail - have a popup menu that contains the other
items that are off the edge. If they have children they get submenus, sorta like
how IE does it.
I love the way things look in this screenshot.
but UE thinks its frumpy ;)

need to be able to remove items like home and net2phone. eric also had some
ideas about how toolbars should collapse, although I dont think what he had in
mind is do-able soon. leaving untargeted.
