User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8a6) Gecko/20041220 Firefox/1.0+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8a6) Gecko/20041220 Firefox/1.0+ Full details can be found at http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=1076468#1076468 The problem is that firefox does not redraw its interface or page contents correctly. Screenshot: http://aserv.ownage.org.uk/firefox.PNG As can be seen, in the screenshot, it redraws some things if the mouse is moved over them (buttons, text fields etc) and it will redraw text if you select it. It will also redraw areas where another window covered it (aslong as it didn't cover the WHOLE interface) Resizing the window down to a seemingly randomly small size makes everything work properly. Scrolling the window will make anything that moves up/down to the viewing area get drawn correctly. Other people i know have had the same problem, as well as people on the mozillazine forum. The problem still exists in the release firefox-1.0+.en-US.win32.installer.exe 20-Dec-2004 11:18 at http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/ and has existed for quite a while now (around 0.7 i think it started) If you want me to run any debug versions, or older versions, or give more info, just ask and i will provide what i can. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Leave windows running for a while with a few apps open 2. Open firefox 3. After a while the interface refuses to draw (at around 450mb ram usage with 1024 or 512mb ram) Actual Results: Screenshot of actual result: http://aserv.ownage.org.uk/firefox.PNG Expected Results: Screenshot of expected result: http://aserv.ownage.org.uk/firefox2.PNG (Taken on my other machine)
Any update? Still present in 1.0.4 Generally it happens when Firefox has been open and Windows has been running for a couple of days. and/or when ram usage is above 80% It also used to happen if i had a large (1024*768) image set as the background for 18+ windows in mirc (a windows IRC client: http://www.mirc.com/)

Dataforce, does upgrading to Deer Park Alpha 2 fix the problem for you? "Paper" has been working on on stuff in bug 284978 (and maybe elsewhere) that might have fixed it.
