RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 109970

People

(Reporter: kavithar, Assigned: bugzilla)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0

A page that renders fine in the browser gets messed up when printed.

This may be caused by the following things:

1> The font size seems to have enlarged during Print Preview and Print
2> This is causing the text to overlap in a fixed width page.
3> The increase in font is also causing the one page content to spill over into
the second page.

The page renders fine in IE.

These are the attributes of the text ( the one that's messing up )
<font face="Arial" size="1">

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the web page ( Page looks fine )
2. Print Preview page ( Fonts are larger and text is overlapping )
3. Print document ( Printed page looks like Print Preview view)

Expected Results:
Printed page should look identical to browser view of page.
While print preview looks ok for a frame web page when you choose to print it
each frame is printed on a separate page.

(Which is developed by me so I would like firefox to be able to print it correctly)

I.E has the option to print page as laid out on screen which works so why is
there no options for firefox?

If our company is going to push Mozilla Firefox with all of our products, we
need this bug fixed. And we have till Friday to make a desision.
This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

The latest beta releases can be obtained from:

Seamonkey: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/
Yes this bug is still here, I have been having to use Internet explorer
unfortunatly for our customers because firefox will not remember print margin
settings. Firefox's printing is very week in general. Open a print preview,
and press F5. Opps, you're stuck on print preview!
Anyhow the main reason, more like the only reason why we don't push firefox as
the browser of choice for web apps we write is because of the issue with
printing. Reports printed from web apps have to be consistant, and can't be
until these are fixed.
Still a problem?
several specific print issues are listed here. one of them is bug 109970, so duping to 109970.

generally, please file one bug per specific problem.
