I never used sidebar. But after i installed mozilla 1.8a6, sidebar opens every
time i search in google.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. search in google

Actual Results:  
sidebar opens

Expected Results:  
sidebar should not open

please (un-)check your preferences:

Edit->Preferences->Navigator->Internet Search
[ ] Open the Search tab in the Sidebar when search results are available.

Yep! Resolving as INVALID

You missed first sentence of my report "I never used sidebar". 

This mean, that program overrided my settings without asking me.

Maybe the program has a search tab in the sidebar by default.

Can you first specify the settings you have so that we may be able to figure out
the exact steps to reproduce the problem you have.

1- Do you have Edit->Preferences->Navigator->Internet Search
[ ] Open the Search tab in the Sidebar when search results are available
checkbox checked?

2- Do you have the search tab selected in the sidebar?
View/Show-Hide/Sidebar F9/Tabs/Search is checked?

I created a new profile and 
- [ ] Open the Search tab in the Sidebar when search results are available
checkbox is checked
- the search tab is listed and selected in the sidebar

So, in any new profile, search results will popup the sidebar and the search
results will be shown in the sidebar.
All you need to do is to choose accordingly your settings in the
Edit->Preferences->Navigator->Internet Search window
and in the sidebar with Tabs/Customize Sidebar

Resolving again as INVALID

Last time i created profile in version 1.3 and i still using that profile... 
And i never turned on sidebar...
