German Umlauts don't work here:

user_pref("mail.server.server1.trash_folder_name", "Gelöschte Objekte");

IMAP-Server is Microsoft Exchange Server 2003

The folder is not shown. Still the default "Trash" folder in charge.

German Umlauts even don't work in Bugzilla. What was written in the pref is:
"Gelöschte Objekte"
I tried more and found out:
An Umlaut is not the problem ("Gel&APY-scht") is ok.
A Space is as well ok ("Geloeschte Objekte") is ok.

An Umlaut and a Space confuses TB ("Gel&APY-schte Objekte" and
"Gel&APY-schte%20Objekte") don't work.

Can anyone confirm?

I can kind-of confirm on TB 3b2... first, I had the same problems as you mentioned with my user folders on googlemail imap, then they showed correctly a few minutes later, possibly after downloading messages (but that's speculation on my part). Tried adding a new label in googlemail, showed up correctly in the subscriptions manager and the main folder tree. Tried the other way round, adding a folder in TB and seeing what happens in google, no problems there either...

So I had the same problem but I can't reproduce it.
I forgot to mention that the folders I added also had diacritics in the names, obviously.
Severity: normal → S3
