(I'm just migrating from Mozilla Suite to TB/FF and this is part of the moving 
pains).

In Mozilla, at the top of the mail folder pane, there's a field chooser 
dropdown. In particular, I was able to set this pane to display: "JustStuff 
(123)  456", i.e. show both new item and total item count, which is extremely 
useful. I can't seem to be able to do this in TB.

Expected Results:  
A way to display both new and total item count for each folder.

tools | options | advanced | show expanded columns in folder pane...

I wonder if we shouldn't switch the default on this option, so the picker is
there by default. Otherwise, this feature is pretty undiscoverable for normal
users...
