This combination seems to create a weird and ugly "flickering effect" with the PRE element when you :hover the LI elements (those in the box on the right). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. over the mouse pointer over the list item in the right boxes 2. 3.

Noticed that there's also floating element involved. You can get the flickering effect also hovering the "About this site" link (upper right). That is a A element right floated.

Ok, I leave the "problem" only on the "About this site" for your test purposes. Commenting out the "list-style-type: circle" on the li:hover makes my site flicker... less (not on the over of the list in the boxes, at least) :)
