User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050225 Firefox/1.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050225 Firefox/1.0.1 When printing various web pages, e.g. http://lbsu.ac.uk/caxton/studyskills/materials/learn-extra.htm and some bbc news pages, the first page of a multi-page document is printed with all the headings but is otherwise blank. The main text of the document then commences on the second page and is OK. This can result in a single page document becoming a two-page document, etc. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. Access URL 2. Click on 'Print' icon, (and normally choose double sided, although the problem occurs on single sided too). 3. Click OK Actual Results: Pages print quite happily but the first page, although showing the headings, etc. (frame??) does not show the text that should be there. The text then starts on page 2. I've tried 'clicking into' the text of the page or not doing so but the blank page is printed either way. Expected Results: Print as normal Mostly MS software (XP, Office, etc.) Assuming this isn't down to me being stupid (always possible!), this could be costly to users. If one page documents need two pages to print (single sided) or two pagers become three pagers (double sided), the user wastes an extra sheet of paper (and the printed document looks odd). Increased costs mean lower take-up.

If this page is in fact in frames (I cannot access the URL you referenced) then this is most likely a duplicate of bug 169132. Try printing again and make sure you select the radio button to print frames "As laid out on the screen" and report back on this bug if that fixes the problem.

I've tried what you suggest (it certainly looks likely to be the answer) but when I Print, the relevant "Print Frames" section with its three buttons is not 'live', i.e I cannot access it to choose my preference. Again, I'm probably missing something here so would welcome advice on how to make these buttons live. (Note: in my original posting, the URL I gave was wrong. It should have started http://www.lsbu.ac.uk/ sorry about that

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
