In an effor to maximize viewable browser real estate the following thought
crossed my mind: Yes, I can disable the status bar, but wouldn't be nice if the
status bar would still be visable while loading a page, yet auto-hide when I am
not 'expecting' a status. A on/off option for the status bar is nice, but I
think an option to 'auto-hide' the status bar when pages are not loading would
be helpful. Why would I care about the status of a page that is already loaded?
I understand there are quicklaunch icons that people use, but I think aside an
on/off feature for the status bar, an auto-hide feature for when a page is not
loading would also be helpful.

moving/animated UI is a visual distraction, and since we use the status bar for
popup blocked, live bookmark additions, and security and anti-phishing bits,
this is hiding a lot of useful notifications.
