I was trying to edit the referenced page to eliminate the references to
Newzilla, which is apparently kaput. See: http://www.gerbilbox.com/newzilla/
Wanting to edit one page doesn't mean you need cvs access.

Summary: webtree CVS account for <your name here> - <your email address here> → link to newzilla doesn't work
poked people in #documentation - RSZ removed the link - all fixed now.
This was similar to Bug 242754 - is there any way to query if we have any more
links to this project anywhere on the site?

Actually, google reveals a few:
http://www.google.sh/search?q=site%3Amozilla.org+newzilla - we should probably
remove those as well...

The "Edit This Page" link at the very bottom of each page allows anyone to
compose a correction. Only after composing and then attempting to post the
correction are they prompted for a cvs login.

You should do one of the following:
-Warn would-be posters of the upcoming requirement for a cvs login before they
begin to compose the edit and give them another way to report the error on the
page (perhaps Bugzilla)
-Allow members of the public to have a cvs login for the sole purpose of editing
pages
-Allow edits with a login other than cvs
-Allow edits anonymously
-Remove the "Edit This Page" link and replace it with a link to Bugzilla

FYI, you can get a cvs account just for the website. Actually, CVS accounts for cvs-www.m.o and for cvs.m.o are separate.

Last I heard, Marcia wasn't accepting any more "general" cvs-www accounts. The new version of Doctor (CVS; version running on https://doctor.mozilla.com) allows users to e-mail their patches from Doctor to some preset address in the config. I've requested that d.m.o be upgraded to the latest version, so I'll mark this bug dependent on that one.
Depends on: 326934
Oh ok, I didn't know they weren't taking general cvs-www account applications anymore. I've had mine for a few years.
The new Doctor version allows you to download a patch and attach it to a bug.
