Having opened the above link (of a website with an embedded movie) mplayer plays
the movie right through. Control-clicking "refresh" causes Firefox to
immediately crash out.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start FF. Pull down menu to select www.garsonix... url.
2. wait for movie to finish (20 secs or so.)
3. Control-click reload.

Actual Results:  
The actual result is a crash; FB is killed by sigsegv.

Expected Results:  
Reloaded the page and restarted the movie.

I tried to use strace to see what was going on - FF was invoked by "strace
mozilla-firefox 1>t1 2>t2". t1 is virtually empty. t2 is large, and it is attached.

The results of "strace mozilla-firefox 1>t1 2>t2" are the attached file, t2,
and "*****sendCommand Truncated*****", which is the entire contents of t1.

never attach an strace unless a developer specifically asks for one. they're
almost always useless.

if you're building mozilla/firefox+mplayer yourself, then you should run:

./firefox -g
run
bt

(bt is the command to get a *STACK* trace after you crash)

since you're using debian (and not the current version of firefox1.0 or
firefox1.x), you could file a bug with debian's bug tracker or ask debian for
help getting a *STACK* trace). note that debian builds are explicitly not
supported here.

Can't find anything that mplayer would play in the url given, but cnn.com has
plenty, running Fedora 3 crashes happen occasionaly when exiting the tab with
mplayer or pressing back or reload. Doensn't matter what file type it is, mpeg,
wmv, avi, etc

Firefox just crashes or stops responding, taking killing it with ctrl-alt-esc
removes it from veiw, but it refuses to go without using kde system gaurd to
send it a sigkill or sigterm.

If there is more info I can provide, please let me know

Is this reproducible using Firefox 2.0.0.3 or later with a clean profile?
