I found that I can delete the folders if I go into the folder on my HDD where mails are stored. When I do that (and delete all the folders, .msf files and extensionless files) TB won't list them any more.

This might be by design. (http://lxr.mozilla.org/seamonkey/source/mailnews/imap/src/nsImapMailFolder.cpp#1304)

Reporter, does the issue still occur with the latest supported 2.0.0.x / Shredder trunk nightlies? (1.5.0.x is now end-of-life and the latest supported Thunderbird version 2 is 2.0.0.16)
