Sometimes, when composing a message, I need to change the quote level of a block
of text (e.g. > > > to > > or > to > >). On every other mail client, that's
easy, with a keyboard shortcut to make it convenient. In Thunderbird, not only
is there no keyboard equivalent, I cannot figure out how to do it at all.
There's nothing on the Formatting Toolbar, and nothing in the Insert or Format
menu. You can increase the quote level by cutting and then pasting as a
quotation, but that's a weak workaround.

If this is not present, it needs to be. If it is, and I just haven't found it
after searching for months, it really needs to be exposed better.

I find this to be a severe problem as well. In composing return messages, I often add and subtract quote levels. I won't switch to Eudora8 until this feature is added.

I find that really important too. Every other mailclient and even some Texteditors eg. Textwrangler can do this.

It's been 12 years and nobody in Mozilla looked at this???
